The Ginto app was specifically designed for use on mobile phones. However, you can also install and use it on tablets running iOS and Android operating systems.

Download Ginto from the App Store

The Ginto app is available for free on the App Store and Google Play.

Ginto is free for private use. If you would like to use Ginto commercially, for example for paid data collection, please get in touch with us.

Try Ginto

If you would like to test Ginto without creating real entries, enable the test environment.

    Enable the test environment in the settings. Android: App Info > Additional settings in the app > Use test environment. iOS (iPhone): Settings > Apps > Ginto > Use test environment.

    Close the Ginto app by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. Remove the Ginto tile by tapping and dragging it away.

    Restart Ginto. The active test environment is indicated in the app by a red bar.

    You can now create and edit entries without the changes becoming publicly visible.

    Don't forget to turn off the test environment when you want to create or search for real entries.

The test environment has its own user database. Passwords in the test environment are therefore independent of those in the production environment and may differ.

Sign in to Ginto

Modern user management ensures security and data protection.

    Sign in using an external Google or Apple account, or create a dedicated Ginto account with a username and password (you can find further assistance in guide #3).

    Review and accept the General Terms and Conditions (GTC) and the Terms of Use.

    As a person with a disability, or as an assistant or companion, you can select a needs profile after registering. You can adjust it later in the app menu.

Apply for OK:GO proof for ‘Swisstainable’

OK:GO is recognised as proof within the ‘Swisstainable’ sustainability programme at Level II – engaged (in combination). An overview of all recognised sustainability certificates can be found here.

An OK:GO certificate for participation in ‘Swisstainable’ can be applied for using this web form. A certificate will be issued once the conditions of participation have been met. The OK:GO certificate is valid for two years from the date of issue.

How do I find Ginto in the App Store?

Ginto is available in app stores across Europe and the USA. As the Ginto team is not sufficiently familiar with the local conditions and legal requirements in Africa, Asia, and South America, we are currently focusing on Europe and the USA.

How can I change the language in Ginto?

Ginto is currently available in German, French, Italian, and English. By default, Ginto uses the language setting of your mobile phone. You can change the language in your phone's settings (Settings > Apps > Ginto > Language). On Android, you need to restart the app to apply the new language. On iPhone, the app restarts automatically. Titles, names, and comments entered by users are not yet translated.

Why am I not receiving the password reset email?

Please start by checking your spam or junk folder, as the email may have been filtered there. If you don't find it, ensure you entered your email address correctly and try again. If you still haven't received the email, please let us know. We are happy to help you reset your password manually.
