Before you start

Ginto offers two applications to search for accessibility information: an app for mobile phones and a web map for computers. Both the app and the web map are optimized for their respective areas of application and offer various advantages.

Benefits of the web map: It adapts to the screen size and is suitable for anyone who prefers to research on larger monitors. The web map offers extensive search and filter functions.

Benefits of the app: The app for mobile phones has simple search functions and offers the option to independently enter new information on local accessibility. To do this, it uses the device's camera and GPS functions.

Not all functions available on mobile phones are therefore also available in the web map — and vice versa. In this guide, you'll learn how to use the app for mobile phones to search for accessible locations. Instructions for searching with the web map can be found in the overview in the support area.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I see the latest Pro Infirmis entry in the Ginto app?

All new entries created by Pro Infirmis in FIRST are automatically transferred to Ginto. If, on the other hand, existing entries are adjusted in FIRST, the changes are not automatically adopted. This prevents complex Ginto entries from being automatically overwritten.

Would you like to overwrite a Ginto entry with the updated first entry? Then please get in touch with us so that we can manually trigger the override.

There is both a FIRST and a Ginto entry from my location. Which is shown?

The most recent entry is always displayed. For example, if a company collected accessibility information itself with Ginto in 2019 and an additional collection was carried out by a Pro Infirmis professional in 2021, the Pro Infirmis entry is displayed.

Why are two entries shown in Ginto for the same location?

Ginto resolves duplicate entries as much as possible. However, it may happen that a duplicate entry is not recognized as such due to slightly different names, addresses or spellings. In this case, please let us know so we can do a manual review.
