About us
People with disabilities need objective and standardized information on the accessibility of locations to independently plan a trip, a visit to a health facility or a dinner in a restaurant. Ginto therefore finds, collects and shares detailed, structured information on the accessibility of locations, leisure and mobility offers. “Ginto” is an abbreviation for the English terms “get into” and translates as “come in.”
The first collection of accessibility information with Ginto took place in 2015. Together with the Förderverein Barrier-Free Switzerland, the AccessibilityGuide association, Pro Infirmis and financial support from the Federal Office for the Equality of Persons with Disabilities EBGB and various foundations, Ginto has developed into the most comprehensive platform of information on the accessibility of locations in Switzerland.
Ginto makes it easier for people with disabilities to participate in leisure and everyday activities and makes a practical contribution to the implementation of the Disability Equality Act and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
